Solutions on Food Cravings
The expert nutritionists agreed that attention must be paid to pregnancy cravings indulging the healthy ones and coming up with alternatives to the less healthy cravings. Somer says "A healthy diet should meet your nutritional intake and your emotional needs and your preferences."
There are some other ways to curb unhealthy cravings.
- Eat breakfast every day.
- Get plenty of exercise and make sure you have lots of emotional support. This one is failrly important. "The ebb and flow of emotions that accompanies pregnancy can cause you to turn to food," says Somer, "when what you really need is hug."
- Another opinion suggests that a glass of water also helps. Your body tells you that you need something, if its not food, it may be water. So trying out a glass of water helps subside the food cravings.
- Try to minimize the intake of ice-cream, chips. Using very small packs of such food item may also help
- One should get his mind off the food to some other areas of interest and it'll certainly help.
