Excess fat can be removed by doing some surgery on certain body parts. The question is should we go for surgery? Is it risky to go for surgery? There are successful operations done to remove excess fat, but there have been cases of some serious side effects.We'll discuss few of the surgeries that are performed now-a-days.

Intestinal-bypass surgery

Some portion of the small intestine is cut and removed. The food we eat is digested in the stomach and the digested food is then absorbed in small intestine. When the intestine is removed, the absorption of the food is reduced. This way the body gets less amount of nutrition. In this surgery sometimes the entire small intestine is removed. This operation is very risky and serious injuries, infection in the wound etc can really adversly affect the health of the patien undergoing surgery.

Cosmetic plastic surgery

Body parts like hips, thighs, stomach can be operated to remove the layers of fat accumulated. The removal of layers of fat is only a symptomatic treatment. In this case, fat may start getting deposited after some time. Permenant scars may result on the parts of the body where the operation has been performed.
