Treatment of Gallstones
Sometimes gallstones diappear on their own and need no treatment. The common surgery for the gallstones is 'removal of gallbladder'. Your doctor will tell you the best way out. The removal of gallbladder is called cholecystectomy.
- In some cases, drugs are used to dissolve the gallstones.
- Cholecystectomy: The most common treatment for gallstones is surgery to remove the gallbladder.
- Silent gallstones are usually left alone and occasionally disappear on their own. Usually only patients with symptomatic gallstones are treated.
